{"id":1298,"date":"2014-12-24T23:14:00","date_gmt":"2014-12-24T23:14:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.system11.org\/?p=1298"},"modified":"2015-01-26T13:08:44","modified_gmt":"2015-01-26T13:08:44","slug":"new-arrivals-2412","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/?p=1298","title":{"rendered":"New arrivals 24\/12\/2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last PCB haul for the year, and there are some really interesting ones.<\/p>\n<p>UFO Robo Dangar &#8211; this one is licensed by Tecfri.\u00a0 Or was it?\u00a0 It&#8217;s known that Tecfri licensed quite a number of games from various manufacturers, including several from Nichibutsu.\u00a0 However, while it&#8217;s normal to see Tecfri logos as well as ones for the original maker, the Tecfri logos have all been removed from this PCB, even the underside.\u00a0 Was this once upon a time passed off as a Nichibutsu one, or is it a case that Tecfri didn&#8217;t really have permission to make it?\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been told by someone close to the source that Nichibutsu wanted the Tecfri labels removed, but I don&#8217;t think we&#8217;ll ever know for sure.\u00a0 Interesting note, this one has a bug which is also common to bootleg boards, some ground sprite priorities get mixed up during play &#8211; not sure if it affects Japanese ones too as I can&#8217;t find anyone to verify.\u00a0 The ROMs on this match Dangar set 2, while the bootleg has a different set.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2412_ufo_robo_dangar_tecfri.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1294\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2412_ufo_robo_dangar_tecfri-300x247.jpg\" alt=\"2412_ufo_robo_dangar_tecfri\" width=\"300\" height=\"247\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yam! Yam! &#8211; one for the Korea collection, and it turned out to be an undumped version &#8211; the probable parent set since the title screen is actually in Korean.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a little puzzle game where you push blocks around.\u00a0 Cute and inoffensive but nothing special.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2412_yam_yam.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1295\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2412_yam_yam-300x250.jpg\" alt=\"2412_yam_yam\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2412_yam_yam-300x250.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2412_yam_yam-768x640.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2412_yam_yam.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tetris &#8211; a bootleg of some kind, I thought it was undumped to begin with but it was just a bad dump.\u00a0 The music is absolutely awful.\u00a0 It&#8217;s the same as &#8216;atetrisb2&#8217; in MAME if you want to endure the suffering.\u00a0 It was really, really cheap so I had to know&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2412_tetris_bootleg.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1293\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2412_tetris_bootleg-300x218.jpg\" alt=\"2412_tetris_bootleg\" width=\"300\" height=\"218\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Su Ho Sung &#8211; I needed a second one of these to verify a graphical effect\/issue on the one I had.\u00a0 Sure enough it&#8217;s normal, I think the picture output on these boards is too strong and it overloads monitors &#8211; going to use one of mine to experiment on, it leads to all kinds of tints and weird fades which look wrong compared to MAME.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve seen it on other Semicom boards too.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2412_su_ho_sung.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1292\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2412_su_ho_sung-300x228.jpg\" alt=\"2412_su_ho_sung\" width=\"300\" height=\"228\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Razion &#8211; NGDevs new shooter, it&#8217;s actually very nice although I prefer Neo XYX still.\u00a0 I got the LE kit, preordered it pretty much the day they went up.\u00a0 My cart is now running an initial bugfix version based on some comments I sent them (one small map bug and a fix for certain MVS boards).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2412_razion_le.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1291\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2412_razion_le-230x300.jpg\" alt=\"2412_razion_le\" width=\"230\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2412_razion_le-230x300.jpg 230w, https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2412_razion_le-785x1024.jpg 785w, https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2412_razion_le-768x1001.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2412_razion_le.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 230px) 100vw, 230px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ninja Emaki &#8211; being a collector is retarded.\u00a0 Being a collector is why I sold my perfectly good World version to Spadgy and then spent over twice as much getting this one, which wasn&#8217;t in quite as good condition.\u00a0 I had to clean a lot of flux off the interconnects from where a chimp had reflowed it (pro-tip &#8211; when sprites vanish it&#8217;s the jumper on the edge every time, not the connectors).\u00a0 However, this was another puzzle piece in the saga of leaking caps on Irem games.\u00a0 I had never seen this happen to In The Hunt boards with brown caps, until now.\u00a0 So yeah it really is EVERY game with brown ELNAs.\u00a0 This had 3 leaking ones and is now fully recapped.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2412_kaitei_daisensou.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1288\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2412_kaitei_daisensou-300x204.jpg\" alt=\"2412_kaitei_daisensou\" width=\"300\" height=\"204\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hot Pinball &#8211; another Comad game I didn&#8217;t have yet &#8211; it&#8217;s like Gals Pinball but more revealing and not quite as good, thanks to Brian Troha for the heads up when it hit Ebay.\u00a0 It was supposed to have graphical faults but I can&#8217;t find them, seems perfect.\u00a0 Success!\u00a0 Interesting note that the PCB is identical to Gals Pinball, same model number too.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2412_hot_pinball.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1287\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.system11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2412_hot_pinball-300x203.jpg\" alt=\"2412_hot_pinball\" width=\"300\" height=\"203\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hatch Catch &#8211;
