I hadn’t seen much about this film, spotted it on the shelves at the supermarket this weekend so decided to check it out on PPV. It’s a buddy-cop comedy starring Sandra Bullock (a long time favourite of mine) as an uptight FBI agent, and Melissa McCarthy as a foul mouthed street cop who get teamed up to take down a drugs lord.
So going into it not really knowing what to expect, I found the film a bit of a throwback to the good old days of Lethal Weapon and Beverly Hills Cop. It’s pretty funny all the way through, laugh out loud funny in many places. The actresses play off eachother well and the script is really sharp, just don’t watch it with anyone who is offended by bad language – you could play a drinking game with this one.
Make sure you watch the end credits, there’s a small scene in there worth catching. You can’t really go wrong with this one.
