Zombie Hunter (2013)
I was one of the Kickstarter funders for the post production of this one, it promised to be a trashy zombie film and in that respect it didn’t disappoint. There were some messy kills (not enough zombies though overall), it was definitely trashy, it made me laugh quite a few times, and the whole thing is shot in a nice over saturated look. However, Danny Trejo was advertised as being in it which he is, but it’s not much more than a cameo which was a disappointment. Also channels Mad Max near the beginning for some reason, it’s no Hobo With A Shotgun though.
The Wraith (1986)
Where can you see Charlie Sheen, Sherilyn Fenn, Randy Quaid and Clint Howard all before they were famous? This is where. A murdered boy returns from the grave (it’s never really explained how other than with some orbs from space during an intro sequence) to reclaim his girl and take revenge on the gang who killed him, using a ghostly / alien car. You couldn’t make this up. It’s full of 80s music and cliches, and it’s awesome.
