It’s been a while since I posted here, I’ve been so busy with so many projects and not buying much worth showing off. However the scans archive has quietly (and slowly) been increasing and today it broke the 100 items mark.
There are still 700+ to go… It’s actually quite a lot of effort doing them especially with the basic scanner I have and wanting to avoid having to correct rotation in software, even at 600DPI you can tell there’s a loss of sharpness so each scan can take a while getting it lined up as well as possible.
I know the kind of content is probably not very interesting to some as the majority there at the moment is Mahjong artwork, that’s the stuff simply at the top of the pile and also happens to be the least well preserved so it makes sense. The things breaking the barrier today were Kyukyoku Tiger instruction cards, they’ve seen better days but the scans could be cleaned up and/or are certainly good enough for vectoring. It’s getting harder and harder to find these items in good condition, that said once you view them at a rational size most of the imperfections are reduced.
